15% of all HIV-infected people registered in the republic are in Belarusian prisons - 1098 people. This was announced on November 24 at a press conference by the deputy head of the medical service of the Department for the Execution of Sentences of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Vasily Zavadsky. He also said that not a single case of AIDS mouse in prisons has been detected recently, although such a threat remains relevant. Every year, about 100 HIV-infected people are admitted to Belarusian prisons, most of whom are drug addicts. Most of them are held in prisons in the Gomel region, where HIV outmouses were previously recorded.
